Hey guys. A local gamer has made it to the Blizzard video competition finals. He could win a trip to Blizzon. Support your locals and vote for Aaron Putich's video. Only a couple days left in the competition.

Can you tell me how to get to the Fairhaven College Auditorium at WWU? It isn't listed on any map. Is it called the Performing Arts Center on maps, or is that a completely different place?

Thanks very much!

Two questions!
I'll keep is short and sweet.

1. Where is the best placed to get your nose pierced?

2. Which store has the best selection of foreign beers? I just got back from Poland, and I know you can find Zywiec state-side, and I must get my grubby paws on them.

My teenager's bike got messed up over Christmas by some not so nice people in the neighborhood, when he left it in the front yard for a couple hours. We've managed to fix most of it but still need a back rim, since they laid it down and stomped on it, causing it to bend pretty badly.
Anyone know where a 20" BMX rim can be picked up for cheap or free? Money's tight, but he needs his bike to get around.

Therapy dogs in Bellingham
Does anyone do therapy dog work locally? I'm interested but unsure how to proceed. There are several national therapy dog organizations, but I'm not sure if a given facility (hospital, nursing home, etc) would work with any of the organizations, or if each facility would have a preferred organization.

Thanks!

Where to get a haircut?

I'm looking for a good haircut...

I'm ok with spending a little money, I get that frequently to get quality you have to spend a bit more. But I need someone that will not just blindly agree with me when I ask them if they think that a cut will flatter me, and will actually work with my hair (I have medium length, quite fine hair). I seriously need a little help to figure out what to do with it, I have some ideas but I am not really sure if they will work, so I would really like someone who will actually help me.

anyway, enough rambling, I just need a haircut that works, can anyone please tell me where I can get one?

Hey Bellingham! There's a fantastic, award-winning, up-and-coming-next-hot-poetry-thing young poet, originally from PDX, currently from Iowa, who is traveling all the way to our town to read at Western this week! (Well, he's also reading in Portland and Seattle, but we're super lucky to have him here as well!) Please show your love of literature and stuff in welcoming him this Thursday at 5pm in AW 203

October 21, Thurs, 5pm in AW 203 (Academic Instructional West building - it's one of the new buildings on the south side of campus)

Shane McCrae is the author of Mule (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2010), and two chapbooks, One Neither One (Octopus Books, 2009) and In Canaan (Rescue Press, 2010). His work has appeared in The Best American Poetry 2010, The American Poetry Review, African American Review, Agni, Typo and others. He went to school at the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop and Harvard Law, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at the University of Iowa.

Jeopardy
Hey bham,

So I'm watching Jeopardy and one of the contestants is a bartender from the ham. I swear I recognize him but I can not put my finger on where he may work. His name is Mike and was in a bull fight in costa rica.

Anyone know?

Bellingham: Help us Save the Tatas!!
Hey there fellow Hamsters, I'm looking for some help, and I thought maybe LJ land can lend a hand.

In October I am running an event called Breast Cancer Brawl.

The Breast Cancer Brawl is an effort to raise money for breast cancer research, advocacy, education, and support organizations. The event is a fantasy table-top miniatures tournament and painting competitions.

Entry fees to the event are donated to the Bellingham Breast Center. In addition, a unique tournament format is used to encourage additional donations throughout the tournament so that friendly competition can benefit a good cause. During the tabletop game, opponents roll dice to determin hits and injuries on their armies. By buing a raffle ticket for $.50 they can reroll the dice, theirs or their opponents, and can reroll as many times as they want/have tickets. There are other things they can spend their tickets on, which you can read about on the Corvis Correctional page, some of them are pretty clever, so I urge you to take a look. At the end of the event, all of the raffle tickets are going into a pot, and will be used to draw for prizes.

You can see our website for the event at: http://www.corviscorrectional.com/pages/BCBBellingham.html

What I'm looking for help with my dearest Hamsters is trying to get prize support. We've got some, though very little of it has been donated locally. So I wonder do any of you know any businesses who I might speak with to maybe get a donation made?

Thanks guys! <3
